I think my ears have just made it to the next level, I've been wondering what has been wrong with my band's mixes until realizing I'm working in a room with sound mirrors basically.
My question is about isolating the drums... I have a nice big sheet of that stuff that goes under carpeting... pretty thick and seems good at swallowing sound. Should I put this closer to the kit or to the wall when recording? Should I put thinner blankets inbetween this and the kit also? Any other ideas for how to use it? Any help is greatly appreciated!
