Sound fonts

I would like to find other percussion sound fonts other than the standard sounds I am getting with the SoundBlaster Live Soundcard. How would one go about finding a site possibly that has different sound fonts to download? For instance, I would like to find the sound of a drum set using brushes, or maybe snare rolls. Maybe I should be looking for sampled sounds. I'm not sure.
Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

There are zillions of soundfonts out there that are indifferent tio excellent. Just run a search on soundfonts and see how many sites come back!

However, this post by Alan Guiness on the Cakewalk site is excellent and his choice of soundfont drum kit is really very good. The site he recommends is a good starting point for you too.

At the expense of sounding very stupid are you saying I can download these fonts and use them with my midi keyboard? How does that work? Thanks.

Yep, thats exactly what I'm saying . The choice of sounds is gob-smacking. (English expression - Gob=mouth, smacking....well, you get the picture).

Opens up a whole new world doesn't it........

Thanks for introducing me to my new addiction. I'm sure I will be posting many more threads regarding this world of sound font manipulation. I need to post more threads anyway, after two years the "newbie" title gets kind of old. Thanks again!
