I need help!.. um... I plan to setup a home studio and I don't know which sound card to get. Which is better Creative Lab's AUDIOGY or M-Audio's Delta 44? Each card cost $250.. Can you please help me out? And Is Behringer MX602A mixer good? It's cheap though hehe.. and what do you guys think of Rode's NT1 Studio Microphone? Thanks...

neither card is worth $250...to me. but by far the delta is the better buy
some behringer mixers are noisy i don't knoow about this model
rode nt-1 great mic hands down

Thanks... But do you know any other sound cards that cost around $250? And a Mixer for about a 100 bucks? =)

If you can handle just a stereo input, the Delta Audiophile can be had for $159...it has the same converters as the Delta 44.....

you can record two simulataneous tracks with it with a preamp like the Midiman Audio Buddy ($79) and skip the Behringer.....

NT1 is a decent mic, but a Marshall MXLv67 or Studio Projects C1 is a tad better if you can find them there.....

yep, and the behringer mixer shouldn't cost yor $100, the 8 ch on i think goes for $80, the 6 should be like $60

Alrite.. thanks alot =)
I have to finalize everything with my decision before buying all this stuffs... Can you guys make a comparison between the following items:

MICROPHONE:
Rode NT1, Marshall MXLV67, Studio Projects C1, or Nady System SCM-1000 Mic

MIXER: Behringer MX602A Eurorack Mixer, Midiman Audio Buddy Dual Microphone Preamp with Phantom Power and Direct Box, or Behringer MX802A

SOUND CARD: M-Audio Delta 66 or M -Audio Audiophile 2496 PCI Digital Audio Card

MONITOR: Sony SS-MB100H Bookshelf Speakers, Roland MA-8BK Power Micro Monitors, or Sony SSMB215 Speaker Pair

Can you please help me out decide what to get... =)
Thanks alot..

the delta 66 and audiophile use the same converters...the only difference is the amount of ins and outs you get...it really just comes down to how many tracks you want to record at a time and how many i/o's you want...

if the budget is so tight, I'd really recommend a Hoontech Soundtrack soundcard with digital expansion.. (it seems that's all i'm doing these daze... ) This will give you a really great soundcard with sweet noise ratio and more money for a noise free mixer..
just a thought..

Get the C1.... can you get MArshall in the Philiphines? they don't have it here in M'sia.

MIXER: Behringer MX602A Eurorack Mixer, Midiman Audio Buddy Dual Microphone Preamp with Phantom Power and Direct Box, or Behringer MX802A
Get a deicated preamp is better... never get a behringer mixer for the preamps..... Audio buddy is a good choice. Personally, I would go for the Behringer Ultragain MIC2200.

SOUND CARD: M-Audio Delta 66 or M -Audio Audiophile 2496 PCI Digital Audio Card
Both are good, depends on your budget. :)

MONITOR: Sony SS-MB100H Bookshelf Speakers, Roland MA-8BK Power Micro Monitors, or Sony SSMB215 Speaker Pair
No comments on those, but I love my YAmaha MSP5. :)

Have fun! :)

Thanks alot for the response people... But i already ordered my stuffs and decided to order:
SOUND CARD: M -Audio Audiophile 2496 PCI Digital Audio Card
MICROPHONE: Nady System SCM-1000 Mic
MIXER: Behringer MX802A
MONITOR: Sony SSMB215 Speaker Pair

I'll probably upgrade all this equipments next year and ask for your advice again =)
