Sound Card To Home Stero Receiver?

I have a creative soundblaster card. I hooked up a standard RCA cord into the digital/analog output and plugged the other end into the aux. input jack on the receiver.

I used a RCA cord that is split on the receiver end and connects to one cord on the sound card end.

PROBLEM: I am only getting sound on one side of the speaker system. My receiver is digital....is there anyway to get true 5.1 surround sound from the sound card through this receiver?

The line out/in is (most likely) stereo so you don't have 5.1 surround coming out of it. Try connecting the two units with a digital cable.
