Sound card specs

Pardon the dumb question:
Can someone please explain the "64V" nomenclature with my Soundblaster PCI card? How does this compare with other "xxV" cards I've seen on other machines?

I assume it means 64 voices (how many notes can play at once), where the 128 and 512 have more, I am not really sure.
