I've had problems using a Lexicon Omega. It installed once, successfully, then I received an error message about USB device not being installed properly etc..I've down loaded updated drivers for the Omega but to no avail.

It occurred to me that the onboard sound card (Realtek AC97) may be the problem, I'm also getting interference when I try to record audio.

Does anyone have any suggestions for me before I uninstall the sound card? I thought I could just pull the sound card out but it's built in so no joy there.

My PC is an AMD Athlon 64x2, 2 Gig Ram. Lexicon Omega.
Software: Cubase SX & Reason 3

disable it in the bios or disable it in the device manager

Disable the realtek in the bios and try reinstalling the lexicon drivers. You should then see them in Cubase

I've always had luck by just disabling it through the Windows Device Manager in the Sounds & Audio Devices section.

I doubt you're going to have any luck. Try uninstalling the Lexi drivers, disconnecting it, rebooting, reinstalling drivers, and then connecting the Lexi. Lexicon's drivers are terrible.

thanks all

thanks everyone for your responses. hope you all have a safe and funky New Year :)

You can disable it in your BIOS. It should not cause a problem though (I use my realtek for system sounds etc) so I would do some more research, see if lexicon has support forums
