sound card for HOME SYSTEMS

Is there any type of a sound card that can be hooked externally to a Home Audio System (ex: to the Amplifier) so that digital sound can be produced.

any sound card that has a SPDIF(digital) out sends a digital signal out. it'll look like an RCA jack
