Hi,
I am having a problem with my SoundBlaster AWE 64 Gold card. I recently
reformatted my hard drive. I then reinstalled all of the software back to
my system (including Cakewalk) and had no problems. Monday night I realized
that I had not installed the AWE 64 software that Creative provides with the
card, so I installed that as well. Ever since I installed the Creative
Software, Cakewalk crashes everytime I exit the software (I don't remember
the exact registers of the crash, but the error message mentions
KERNEL32.DLL). I even went so far as to fully disable ALL of the different
AWE 64 functions in the Control Panel - but the system still crashes on
exit.
I realize that these cards have quite a few problems in Cakewalk, and that
they have been well documented. I have followed all of the steps on the
Cakewalk support site (checking for the voice modem, changing settings in
Multimedia, etc.), but the problem has persisted.
I know there is a solution to this problem because I fixed it about a year
ago. It took me quite a while to find the solution then, so I would hate to
have to start from zero again. Any help that can be provided would be
great. Here are my system specs:
Pentium 233
Cakewalk Professional 7.02
Windows 98
Please email any possible solutions to jlardieri@hotmail.com.
Thank you for your assistance.
