Can anyone confirm that till date Creative have not come out with a Sound Blaster Live Platinum ASIO driver? If not how could I set up my sound card to work properly with cubase and avoid latency? What Asio driver would be appropriate?

Have you checked this? http://come.to/sblive
ASIO drivers for the Soundblaster Live. They aren't supported by Creative but they work excellent on my Soundblaster Live.

...but its control panel is an absolute knightmare to understand.

I tried the drivers and dumped them within 24 hours. I decided to just buy an Audiophile 2496 instead and never looked back.

The control panel IS a nightmare. But I got it under control now.

The audiophile or maybe the Delta 410 will be my next step up but so far the sblive is working quite nice for me. A major improvement over the creative drivers.

I have downloaded and installed Kxprojects' latest driver from their site for the use of cubase with my Sound Blaster Live, Platinum ( The one with the front Panel). At the moment I do not have any instruments connected to the computer. After intallation, however I have discovered a few problems when using cubase.

1. The mic/aux line in from the front panel does not work. It seems to have completely died.

2. Asio Multimedia setup states the following when I run the simulation to test the driver: “Not all the selected devices in the current configuration were successfully started with their selected options. If this card is currently configured to accept a digital signal, and no digital signal is present, please either reconfigure the card to use an ‘internal clock’, or apply a digital signal, or if possible switch this port to accept an analog input” The driver is set on 48,000 KHz sample rate and the internal clock is already selected.

3. At startup of cubase the program states the following: “The song sample rate does not match the current sample rate! Set to Match?” After pressing YES it states “Sorry, can’t change the Sample Rate, probably not supported, or external clock!”

I presume that the problems are all related to the sample rate and clock settings. However the only sample rate that the driver allows me to use is 48,000 KHz and the audio clock source is already set on: “internal”. What could I do in order to resolve this problem?

Does anyone have a solution to these problems

Is it possible that nobody encountered this problem after installing the KX driver for the soundblaster live sound card.

Please help!
