there's a ton of beat making software out there but lately i've been getting god results from just using my recording software. Logic pro 8

i like it better cuz instead of importing beats to one track you can create the beat then record Vox on the same project and mix everything together.

Different strokes for different folks homie. Like you said, there's TONS of software out there so there's tons of ways that a beat could be made.

Me personally, I'm the opposite. I would rather keep the beat and the vocals separate, mainly because a lot of them I don't do for myself and a Reason file is wayyyy smaller than a full recording session so that way if I need to remix the beat I don't have to load up the whole session. I can edit the beat and then re-import it into the session later and since the BPM wouldn't have changed the vocals will still be on beat.

But like I said, different strokes for different folks. Doesn't matter how you do it as long as you make it bang.

Yeah I mentioned in a different thread about Maschine.

I like it cus its pretty simple but that may be a drawback aswell. I learned on FL and have tried reason but I like the hardware side of things. So I went to go buy the MPC 1000 and saw Maschine being demoed. It comes with a hardware controller that has the same feel as the MPC. The software is pretty good yet limiting at times. Most of the sounds are decent. Sampling is a breeze and loading sounds is even easier. Just the software is still new so there definetly some bugs to be worked out.
