Just plugged in a Sony CD D12 player.

Out of sight. Great sound!

The box offers XLR outs, as well as other features that make it an outstanding piece of gear.

Yea, verily, the box isn't a "low" end price; however, I got it for more than 200 pezzutos off the list price. Also found out from a friend the cost price -- I'm happy.

This Sony CD player will almost poach your eggs and cook the bacon.

The D12 is indeed a nice piece of gear. The r/l XLR outs, with a choice of output db is great. I do many recordings using CD background music and the XLR outs will do nicely putting the music into the 2816.

The unit also has a digital out. This will also go into the 2816 but I haven't used that method yet as the manual is short of being clear on the procedure.

The sound is just great and I only have Yorkville passives; I'll have to upgrade my monitors soon. I like passives. Any suggestions?
