Have purchased the sigma ribbon mic and returned it somthing loose inside the mic, cant tighten the over designed shockmount the nut is to small so mic angle keeps dropping during recording , its noisey and very low on output evn though its phantom powered.

the mounting screws on all the large body mics are a nightmare and fall apart when trying to tighten or slack off !! the polar switches are loose and you get a feeling that they will be the first thing to breakdown

the Orpheus has the same sound as a Behringer B1 only difference is around £250 pounds !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

very unsatisfied with these mics , maybe you have a different experience

So boo to Sontronics

if you're looking for a good, low-cost phantom powered ribbon, i love the karma k-6. i've had two and they're noisier than a condenser, but still very useable. they come with a sturdy shockmount, that i've never had problems with and they're way cheaper than the sontronics.
for the price of the sontronics orpheus, there are a lot of great single and multipattern condensers you could choose from-- at 4050, offerings by karma, shure ksms, the m-audio sputnik-- which has gotten rave reviews, etc. if you don't need a multi-pattern mic, i love my oktavamod mk-219 pe-- that's an awesome mic for less than the orpheus.
