SonicFury Line in Problems

OK, newbie to home recording but overclocking/gaming oldhack here.

I have a Marshal twin channel practise amp, an LP Studio Ebony Gold, 1.4G T-bird with 512Mb RAM, RAID0 ata66 40Gb drive, WinME, DX8.1 and a SonicFury (State siders read Santa Cruz).

I have tried connecting the Guitar directly to the line-in and can here it through the speakers but the Santa Cruz will not apply its own native effects to it. Also, I have an effects program that will not pick up the signal from the line in at all.

When I connect it to the Mic, I know sin of sins, both work, as in SC's own effects and the effects app, but the effects app has a delay of about 1/2 a second despiter setting the delay to everything from 50ms to 0ms.

Have also tried connecting the lin-out of the amp to the line-in and it appears to have no effect either, any ideas?

Just to clarify, I have set the line-out as the recording source in the control panel for the Santa Cruz when using line out and ditto for Mic. Same thing in the Effects app, I select Santa Cruz for input and primary sound driver for output. And I don't think I have anything muted when it shouldn't be.

I also tried using the Versa-Jack and set it to analogue in, but this also seems useless, though it sounds like it should make the most sense as the signal from the guitar's pickups would be analogue anyway, AFAIK.

Cheers in advance guys,

Lorddrakul.

And a Happy New Year to All.

OK,
managed to get some of this sorted. A Dodgy connector was most of the problem.

Now I have a different problem.

I can get a good signal either from my distortion pedal, or from the Marshall's line out going into my line-in on the soundcard. I am using Guitar FX box 2.5 but the latency is huge. I get a delay of about 1/4 of a second. All the effects work, but all are delayed.

In set up in the effects pack I get the options for input which are,

Santa Cruz - default
Santa Cruz Secondary Recording

Either one gives me acceptable levels using Analogue In or Line In. Both however give me severe delay.

For the output the options are

Primary Sound Driver - default
Santa Cruz

Either one works but again with the delay.
There are other options but they give direct sound errors or are not suitable, such as modem wave device etc.

My system is a 1.4G T-bird with 512Mb RAM on WinME with DX8.1 and the latest SonicFury Drivers.

Anyone any ideas?

Thanks,

LD
