Sonic difference between AKG C12 & C12A?

Hi folks

Apart from the way they look, can any of you lucky so-and-so's who have experience with both the C12 & C12A tell me what the difference is technically and sonically? Which are the most desirable, or should I say most expensive to aquire!?

Well obviously it'll depend on the condition of the C-12 and the C-12A... general observations... the C-12A is a bit 'airier' on the top, the C-12 has a better depth and dimension... a creamier midrange that seems to mix like few other microphones.

A good C-12A will run around $2,500-3,000 [±3db]... a good C-12 $7-9k [±3db]... not that it's necessarily worth that much more [I think the C-12A is a highly undervalued piece of equipment] but due to 'supply and demand' issues.
