I'm gonna throw this out and see if anyone feels like co-writing a song with me just for fun. And if it goes platinum all the better!

These are some lyrics I wrote a while ago but I never did write any music/melody for it.

Looking forward to hearing how someone else would approach these lyrics musically.....post your link with your version once you're done.

Multi-person collabs are welcome of course.....

What you looking for? Acoustic, electric, mellow, hard, simple...... :D

I could help some, might even have a riff already. I won't be home for a few more days, but I put together a chord progression today, with no words in mind.....
 
Post some info in the dragon cave under the thread I started called "Let's Write a Song". there might be some folks in there who would jump on this with you.

Cool - anything goes for this. I was thinking maybe R & B, but I'm open to anything and hoping to get a few different variations. Will be interesting to see how everyone else interprets this.

people would turn it into a big joke in the cave... start ranting on about inapropriate subjects...

anyways im game to co-write a song
 
So whatever key or instrument is okay? It has a bluesy feel to it. :D

True - yes, you can use any instrument(s) you want, and sing it in any key you like and that you feel best suits the song.

It does have a bluesy sort of feel to it when you read the lyrics, but it's open to any type of musical style.....

Actually its done pretty well so far. We've got a group together already.

DJ we penned you in on bass. You had indicated you were interested but never responded after that. You still on board?

That being said, Id on't mind merging that thread with this one. I'll post over there that if you're wanting to do a collaborative process to come over here.

My goal was to have a few groups of folks doing all different styles of music (and offering non instrument services like mastering, etc) and then end up making a CD from it.

Hey MCreel - I checked out your thread over at the Cave..... It sounds like you have the makings of a great group. You're welcome to try your hand(s) at a version of this tune too - the more the merrier! Looking forward to your take on this!

Thanks, I think you guys should keep hammerin away at that tune and then when we're done we'll have a two song cd and be ready to add a couple more to it.

It would be nice if we had like 4 or 5 groups of collaborators working on songs at once. Then we'd end up with a solid variety of music. It would of course be acceptable to have one guitar player, one vocalist, etc, working on 2 or 3 different songs.

I'll pencil you for the following collaboration:

Style: Rockin Rock
Lyrics/Vox - MCreel
Guitar(s) - Anomaly Design
Bass - DJHead
Drums - NegadivOne

I'm gonna get started on some lyrics ideas so thats once I've got some beats/riffs I can at least have a stepping stone in place. Neg, Anomaly, or DJ if you've got some scratch tracks done send em on over.

Oh, FYI - I have Cubase SX3 so I suppose if we don't all have the same software program we'll have to send each track over as .wav files.

Neg. and Anomaly are gonna send me some stuff sometime soon I think, so we'll see then. If you've got any bass lines you like then send them to the group and we can get rollin on those too. Might end up with more than one song.

id so be in for anything.....too bad i dont have a setup yet......i really think you guys should keep pressing this. try to kep it public as much as possible. maybe a website? i think it will be really exciting to witness. ill help with anything other than recording you need . lol. Good luck guys!

This might be a good idea. Anyone have some webspace and developing skills they'd be willing to use to create a little hosting station for the songs and some info about them once they are done?

Just messed with it for a few, to see about a progression.....
 
I like that as a solid intro. Possibly speed it up a bit depending on where you wanted to take it.

Good sound too. Adding a distortion track that doesn't have any phase (is that the effect you used) would thicken it up a bit too because theres no much bass there.
