I really want to get together with someone to write some songs and start a band with, but as of yet havnt been able to find anyone with similar interests. I go to school in York, and need to start playing out again. I am interested in creating some genre-breaking music, and not being confined to one style or image; im 19 and i have played the bass for 6 years and guitar for about half that. If you want to jam, please respond or send an email if you prefer. thanks alot -sean
p.s. if anyone knows of a good musician classified website, please post!

My son lives in Waynesborough....I think that's how you spell it. He's got the fever real bad right now too. In fact, I think he's doing an open mic tonight in Frederick. His sister is doing a lot more with her music now, so he's got the bug! I think I started something.

Check out this site: http://www.paentertainment.com

The guy who runs the site, Dave Blackledge, is dedicated to the music scene in East-Central PA. He's in Bloomsburg (I think that's it), which I know is over an hour north from you but he is still a good resource.

I'm driving out from NY to play at Charades (in Danville) as linked from that site, this Saturday night and we're having a jam session after my main set and you are welcome to come if you'd like to make the schlep...

Actually, there's no "ugh" on the end. It's just Waynesboro. I know because I used to live in Greencastle, which is the next town over to the west.

And the recommendation that you try paentertainment.com is pretty good. You could also try posting an ad on harmony-central.com in the musicians section, or simply hang up signs at all the local music stores (I'm sure there are a ton in York... ;) ).

This thread made me misty...I used to live in South Central PA - I even went to college at Shippensburg University. If I knew anyone who was still doing music up there, I'd send you their e-mail. All of them have either moved away or have families or real jobs (and no time).

I'd love to jam with you some time. I'm the infamous Waynesboro kid with the bug. I did play that open mic in Frederick( two weeks in a row) and had a blast playin' to strangers. As far as the songwriting goes, for some reason I just can't stop the new stuff from coming. I'd love to here what someone else other than my family has to say about it. Not that they'd be biased or anything.
Drop me a note and we'll see if we can't get together some time.

woah never mind

damn do i feel stupid now

I am assuming York PA...Joe, you'd probably jump on this opportunity. Only problem is space...don't think the wife would go for it.
BTW, we need a bassist and percussionist in the worst way. So if any of you are in the DC metro area and looking to jam with one newbie and a few rusties....give us a holla!
I really should put an ad out, eh? :p

Hey Axis!!!

What do you play?
So far we've played in Warrenton and Rockville...so will travel. So will OKO and BD (they've been around the block several times)
Kewl! Give me a holla
