Ok, here's the link, copied directly out of my web browser. The first song "All I Can" is the one I posted earlier. The other one "Being Alone" is the new one that I'm interested in hearing about. Once again, feel free to really rip it apart as I'm still learning about recording and training my ears and there is no other way to learn.

hey mark,

I listened to being alone,
very big vocals. I would have preffered a solo voice bang center, but it sounds good like this. Very present, like I can feel the performance.

Is that an octava mc012 on vox ? or maybe a rode nt1?

The mix was pretty good. Pretty much invisible (which is a good thing)

I might cut some mids from the guitars to make it more aggressive.

You guys have a good song there .

Good song guys! I also think that the vocals should be in the center though, it just sounds to strange to listen to them in the left side, maybe its just what everyones used too. I would maybe recommend some delay on the fill lead guitar parts. I like the tone but I think its lacking something to give it more character.
Good arrangement and the production is awesome for having "amatuer" equipment.

John

PS. You gotta dig the chickens and stuff in the beginning!

Thanks guys. It's an NT1 on the vocals. I'll have to check to make sure I didn't screw something up, but I originally had the same vocal track panned hard left and right with the right side delayed 15ms. Maybe that isn't the best option, though. I'll play with some stuff.

The reason behind the animal noises at the beginning is that the band name is Huck (conjuring Huck Finn images) and the pictures we took for the "album" (if it can even be called that) cover are all in the river--us standing/walking/splashing/sitting on a couch. Since this song is first, we thought it would be cool to give a bit of ambiance, like you're actually sitting on a couch in the middle of a river too. He he.
