The problem is that the beats don't come close to living up to this, cuz they're pretty pedestrian both in terms of the pattern and the sound, so unless hypenotic productions are being really really ironic, the music and the lyric sort of leave each other behind.
As for the mix, I'd want to bring up that synth horn sound in the beginning. After that, I'd want to sex up the sounds more - I'd be reaching for distortion and parallel compression and multing and all sorts of stuff to try to make it sound less predictable than it does now. The mix sounds okay, but there's nothing special about it, and that's what you have to do with beats and loops music - you have to make it special somehow.
