put that thread to a melody, and add some emotion and you've got your lyrics. If you can write music you can feel. Think about lyrics - and you'll be surprised what is in you. You can wait for somebody else to pay the tab, but you'll be left holding the bag. Don't get me wrong partnerships are nice . . . but something must be said about the struggle of the divine solo artist. Unknown and unencumbered . . . .
I mentioned this book in another thread in this forum, but I'll mention it again - take a look at "Tunesmith" by Jimmy Webb. Nice book on the craft and skills of songwriting - particularly lyric writing.
