Hey guys

+++I put a new mix up (IDIOT_09-2.MP3). I actually felt like (at least in head phones) the voice is already really loud, but I turned it up another 2db, so let me know if you think that helps. THANKS!+++

Our band is planning the DIY route on our next CD.

"Idiot" is one of the first songs to feel sort of ready, so I wanted to put it up here for you guys to criticize or critique as much as you like.

ANY suggestion or comments are completely welcome.

Pretty good, I think the acoustic guitar is masking the top end of the vocal, this strikes me as the type of song I'd like to hear the lead vocal a touch better. Overall things sound like they're tracked nice. The acoustic seems a bit harsh, I'd roll off some highs and let the vocal come through. The master is nice and loud. Good job.
 
Thanks for taking the time and checking this out PDP. How much high end would you consider rolling off? Any specifics?
 
I like the mix, but agree the vocal needs to be clearer/closer. The fast phrasing parts are a bit hard to make out and the punch line could be more punctuated.

Yup, 2nd mix is much better in my opinion. There are still something's that are in competition but that just happens sometimes, so you have to settle for a balance.
Great job, sounds ready to go!
