Sonar XL and Tascam 428

I just bouight the Tascam 428 for my rig with Sonar XL, anyone else use this combination? I also bought the MAudio 2496 soundcard but I have not installed it.

I readed the review on EM magazine, think it's good.

I've got it and it works very well as a portable way of recording (us428 and laptop) and it works well as a studio mixer to automate your mixes.

i use WinXP SP1. without service pack 1, XP is horrible on USB.

Can I ask what your setup is?

Sonar and the 428 work fine on my desktop but I keep getting dropouts on my laptop. I'm thinking it's more Sonar related than 428 (more like my configuration, probably).

External Firewire HDD

No other USB devices connected.

Have you raied the latency?

Yes. But I have to raise it to somewhere around 50+ms.

Is there any negative effects other than the annoyingly slow level meters when raising the latency that high?
