Ok,

Most of the time I am running 4 midi tracks and around 8 audio. Many times the audio and midi get out of time and i have to disable the mme driver, close, re open, then re enable the mme drivers before the timing is right.

This is my puter:
Dell P4 2.0GHz
256MB DDR SDRAM at 266MHz
SoundBlaster Live! 5.1 Digital Sound Card
40x/10x/40x Max CD-RW Drive
48x Max CD-ROM Drive
120GB Ultra ATA/100 Hard Drive
Windows XP Home Edition

I am running sonar 2 xl.

yes but when i do that it will only play and record in mono :(

me-crazy-ac, you must have installed the Creative's Driver for your SB Live! :) And for me, looks like it's the problem you have. Your spec ain't no far different with mine. Have a look in Windows Control Panel --> System --> Hardware --> Device Manager.
Right click on your sound card, Click on Properties (see picture attached). Then click driver tab, and "Roll Back Driver".

Restart Windows, run Cakewalk, and DO wave profiler again. Now, select WDM. You should be out of "Mono" problem by now...

;)
