sonar runs at 3x speed playback

Sonar 2 has started to be uncooperative with a glitch at times and it will start to play back all tracks suddenly (intermittantly) at 3 or 4x normal speed when working in the tracks (usuallyafter an edit or effect process} then it gets a dropout. the only thing I can do to stop the superfast playback is to close and restart the program. Closing the file does not help. Has anyone experienced this problem? If so what worked to fix it. Im running a pentuim 4, 1.6 gig, with plenty of memory. I have a soundblaster audigy soundcard fitted with a live drive.

Its done this several times and any work in progress is lost!

Check your event list for any tempo changes.

both audio and midi race

I dont think that this is related to a tempo change because both audio and midi are both effected. The numbers in the tempo tool bar remain the same as well, this was the first thing I looked at. I was suspecting an interface driver file to the audio card, Though I could be VERY wrong.
