Will be moving up to SONAR from Cakewalk Pro Audio 9; but one thing scares me. I do a lot of work in Audio View. My normal work method is to split the very best samples from an audio track into several clips across multiple audio tracks for precise positioning (this method is called "comping", but you probably already know that.)

With the lack of an Audio View in SONAR, I'm wondering how best this can be accomplished. I've heard that tracks can be hidden (from track view) in SONAR. Is this true? (If so, I guess it would be simple enough to show only tracks being presently edited.) If not, any ideas would be helpful.

Thanks in advance,

Essentially you can do anything in Track View in Sonar that you could do in Audio View in PA9. You give up a little real estate on the left of the screen, but otherwise it's just as functional.

Yes you can hide/show any tracks. You can also size them horizontally and vertically. You shouldn't have any problem doing what you want, although it will take a little getting used to.

I complained for a couple of weeks after I first got Sonar about them removing the audio view. However, once I got used to working in Track View I never even thought about it again.

dachay2tnr,

Thanks, man. That's what I needed to hear. Now, all I need is more money (I know...the upgrade's not too bad.)
