Sonar Home Studio 7 XL - two many midi sounds on one track

When I use the program to record midi it works just fine until I try to work with sound fonts or soft synths. Then I hear drums on every track when I try to play them, along with the other patches.
I've checked the global settings but can't figure out how to get just 1 sound from each track.
This program is very difficult compared to previous Cakewalk Sonars that I've had.
 
Sounds like a MIDI routing problem. Check your MIDI settings for each track.
