Hi everyone. I am relatively new to pc recording and was wondering what are the differences between cakewalk 9.0 and sonar. I am looking into buying one of these programs and am trying to find which best suites me for the price. I really dont know the difference between the two, and ive heard that sonar is "better." But i just dont know how it it better. Thanks

Its kind of hard to run by PA9 these days. Sonar is pretty much PA10, but with a different name.

I would have expected the prices on PA9 to fall greatly with the introduction of Sonar. However, that doesn't seem to have happened.

That being the case, I would strongly recommend Sonar. The people at CW won't be supporting PA9 any longer. Therefore, as changes occur (new OS, etc.) you could end up with problems. Also, more features in Sonar.

If you could pick up PA9 for $75 or less, my opinion might differ. PA9 is a decent program. But for what seems to be about $100.00 price difference between the two, I would suggest you go with Sonar.

My Sonar came in the other day and I've gotten a few hours of flying time in on it. My humble opinion is that it pretty much blows 9 out the water. I dig the views and all the plug in fx.
