Look Mom, I can play!
I had a recording session arranged today with a bunch of muso friends who all crowded into my recording room and then spilled out into various other rooms in the house, set up amps and mics and stuff and settled down to some serious recording time. But what we actually did was spend a great deal of time chasing our tails because of cheap and nasty leads, faulty solder connections and intermmitent faults. In my trash bin I have five leads; okay only one was mine (and that is an embarresment cos I take pride in my gear), but even so...

Some of the quality of the leads were appalling, they were microphonic. You just cannot believe how much signal is lost in a poor lead compared to top quality ones. So be warned.....

...and XLR rule the world!

Why haven't anyone buildt a guitar with XLR connection?

Far too complicated for geetaristz:D And the same reason that drums dont have any leads;) Midi drums are all played by muso's not drummers:)

solution:

go ALL Monster 1000 Studio Pro cable=)

problems solved, hehe.

expensive as shit, but well worth it!

I have put and am putting a LOT of cash into the cleanest quietest, most transparent gear possible. Inevitably, I go chasing all over looking for what the fuck is causing some tiny noise in my system only to find it is a fucking cable!

By the way, when they tell you DON'T get your signal cables NEAR your computer monitor or any power cables---they MEAN IT=)
If you ever find you have some weird teeeeeny tiny noise way back in your super-high quality headphone monitors, 9 times outta 10, it is gonna be a cable laying near a power line or comp monitor. Either that, or your A/C just turned on, lol :-)
