Hey,

I posted this on the Cakewalk Forum but still is pending so I thought I'd throw this Q in here to see who can solve. Here's the issue...

PROBLEM - When playing back recorded audio (whether it's guitar or bass) the timing is off with the MIDI drums (Session Drummer).

The timing is either off right at the start of the song OR it stays in rhythm but tapers off toward the end. For example, if I do a quick 1-2 minute song, usually there's no problem; if it's 3-4 minutes I have to split clips and go into the Clip Properties to change the START time so it plays in synch with the midi drums (Session Drummer).
I've changed the Playback/Record buffer sizes from 64 to 128 to 256 but it doesn't seem to work. I've also updated the drivers for the Lambda sound card (which I assume is not highly recommended for Sonar).

I'm wasting a lot of time messin' with audio clips.

Appreciate anybody's help.

Adjusting the latency effects the response time of soft syths from input. Under audio options the timing master ; playback should be Lambda in and then recording Lambda analog out.

Are the latest drivers installed from Lexicon web site?

Sonar also has an issue to throw the sync of soft synths out when the count in is set at 4 under midi options, although my mention of that had other forums doubting that is the case, what ever.

If a count in is required use the drum

Is the audio lagging or the Midi?

You could try converting (freeze) the Midi file to Audio before recording the Guitar/Bass

Hey.. sorry it took so long to respond.

Bent Rabbit / Rski - Thanks for the info. I checked all of these. Yes, it was the audio off time. So, basically what I had to do was change my buffer sizes back to their original places and delete ALL my audio in every song and re-record. That's what was throwing everything off. It still isn't PERFECT on the playback but best to the ability of my POS Vista computer.

Again, thanks for the help.
