I dont get this i have a computer dedicated to just recording that has very little programs on it. only windows media player and a few other. well anyways all of my loop files for sonar are selected to open with wma. No problem. but when i am in sonar and i click import audio and then select one of these loops there is a problem box that say something to the effect of 'sonar wont play .wav file' I dont get this i thought that was exactly what sonar was supposed to read? please help i like using my drum loops

I'm not going to be able to help because I have the EXACT same problem. I can import a .wav file no problem, but when I preview (which I do often) it says 'cannot play .wav file' ??????!!!!!!!

anybody know why??

not sure what you meant by that. wma is a file format for windows media player. i hope your loop files are'nt encoded in wma format. i have no problems playing wav files in sonar 4 pe. have you tried playing a non looped wav file?

have you guys just recently setup sonar 4 pe? maybe you need to change the bit/sample rate in sonar. are you using 16 bit sound cards?

no im using 24 bit. well the icon looks like wma icon but the file is .wav. anyways. when i right click on the icon and say open with sonar 4 p.e. it works fine. but when i try to import it it says cant play .wav file

is your copy of sonar a legit copy? maybe something is missing.

well i bought the computer and paid extra to have it installed. but when it opens it doesnt act like it is illegit.

have you tried reinstalling sonar? how could you possibly tell if sonar acts legit or not?

because there is a group that does illegit copies of things but there is this loading screen that comes up when you open it that shows the illegitamteness. dont quote me but i think the group is h20. or h2. i dont know.i heard about it on this site.
