HI All
Just wondering:
I recorded 2 mins of 2 guitars and 1 bass tracks ( 3) and then copied them to make 43 tracks.
I then ran this on my Athlon 2000 ( 1.67 gig) 512 ram
I was using about 17 to 20% of my cpu and even less reading the drive, is this good?
I hear so much about clicks and things in Sonar, but I didnt have a problem with this.
Sounded very strange!!

Note I used WinXP and close everything down ( network card, anti virus, printers etc)
I didnt use any MIDI at all or effects.

Anyone done more?
Cheers
Bob

Track count is only one item that will tax system resources. Another issue is the type and number of plugins used, as well as the specific brand (e.g., Waves reverbs demand more resources than the Cakwalk reverb).

Because of all the variables involved - system components, software used and the specific recording projects - it makes comparisons among systems a bit diffcult.

Bottom line, if your system is working without problems, then be happy. :)

Hi
Thanks for the reply, I didnt use any plugins as my plan is to use the PC only as a hard drive multitrack and use effects in the desk or at mixdown from my desk. as I dont have a lot of stuff it makes me use less effects, and use those I have for maximum value.

cheers
Bob
