I have SONAR 1.3. Been quite happy with it. Can someone tell me if there are any advantages in upgrading to 2.0? I don't care for any cheap plugins...but is there anything of signifacance that can come out of 2.0 instead of 1.3?

Thanks in advance.

New file system which allows you to save your audio files in "per project" directories.

Some new midi drum tools that are fairly OK.

Probably some other stuff I can't recall at the moment.

I've had Sonar 2.0 since March or April. I installed it on my second computer just to take a look at it and get familiar with it. Eight months later and I have yet to actually install it on my DAW (which is running 1.31). Maybe that tells you how important the changes were to me.

I guess it boils down to how much you hate the old file system, and how much work you do with midi drums.

Yes, I use MIDI drums alot.
Does 2.0 give you the capabality to control all drum elemets seperately? Doesit give you a more detailed layout of drums? Scattered?

Thanks

And I quote:

"Multi-port drum editing with grid & pattern based enhancements and custom drum mapping"

"Drum Grid Editor
Creating MIDI drum parts has never been easier or faster. Paint rhythmic patterns in a single mouse stroke. Use hundreds of included Smart Loops patterns, or create your own. With support for custom drum maps, preview and create kits with real-time remapping that span multiple MIDI devices, multiple outputs, and DXi synths. "
