Sometimes records with fizz?

Sometimes reaper adds fizz to whatever i'm recording. Sometimes it goes days without doing it, some days it wont stop doing it. Usually completly closing the program and reopening is the only way to continue recording normally. Attached is an example. Ideas? Nothing is being changed between takes.

Strange. It almost sounds like the gain is up too high, but the track itself isn't distorting. You may want to take this to the Reaper site and post it there.

This sounds almost "clocky" to me. What sort of setup are you running?

I got a very similar crackle on my recordings for awhile, I fixed it by moving my PCI soundcard to a different slot, don't know if that might be the case here....
