This is a band called Dysfunctional Mariachi. Just thought I would throw it out there.

Here is their website www.dysmex.com

Listening to 'failure' really nice production. Not my sort of stuff but appreciate the work. you can hear just about everything thats going on, EQ sounds well through my Logitechs!! heh. only critisism I would have is around 30 secs in theres some sort of delay on the guitar that doesnt seem to work too well imho. Maybe just the timing of it, but yeah great job!

Cheers

Failure...Cool. I really dig this. The dynamics are awesome. The band name is very cool....doesn't give a hint as to what they are going to hit you with. Really like this tune.

Detition...Bass sounds really good. I like the dudes voice. He seems to know how to use it very effectively. Another cool tune. Nice guitar tone, and the drums sounds really good. Very full range of sounds.

Shit, sweet tunes. Sound well recorded, and mixed. I'd buy this stuff.... :D

That is a tremolo effect that the guitar player insisted on. If it were in time, you would lose the chord changes. It is supposed to be kind of trippy.

Thanks Dogman, beleive it or not, I got the guitar sound out of a Boss GT-5. I ran it through the power section of a tube amp, that seemed to be the trick.

Nice

Boss GT-5.

That would be only criticism with this recording.
Guitars are inexplicably (sp) thin.

Good imaging, and vocal production though for sure.

Nice one

Its nice to hear some good metal productions around here, keep em comin boss.

I tried to get him to play through on of my amps, but he wasn't comfortable without the SS gain. I figured I would get a better performance out of him if he was comfortable, so I went with it. I was suprised that I got anything usable at all out of the GT-5. It was the tube power amp that pulled it out of the toilet.

He's a kid that has never had a tube amp. He is also a pretty sloppy player which becomes more evident with less distortion. Those random harmonics in the middle of riffs require a good amount of gain.

This song is sick, do you guys like slipknot? I actually like the recording a lot, but the kick could use some work. Keep it up.

Tough sitch man.

Didi you consider splitting the signal off a di for later reamping purposes?

Ive saved my ass doing that more than once.

What don't you like about the kick?

I listened again.

Id say the guitars are the only thing.

What do you do to your drum samples after placing them typically?

Ill use the typical eq, compression, verb.

You?

I just don't like the kick. Its sounds to me like their is too much mid bass, and not enough lo bass. I also don't like the clicky sound either. It sounds like a wood beater. Im more partial to slappy sound. I love the recording, im not trying to dogg on you. I guess it's more personal preference than anything.

Normally just EQ and verb with the kick and toms, the snares will get compressed too if it needs it.

A clicky kick (to some extent) is crucial for breaking the kick through the guitar wall Donger.

If it was just puffy or woofy it wouldnt be present enough.

IMO. :D

Me too actually.

A shelf at 6k is more appealing to me than a bell at around 3-4k.

But! You give me both in proper moderatrion?

Im a happy man! Oh and a little plate reverb of course.
