Well, have been meaning to get around to this song. Wrote it about 6 years ago and never quite got the arrangement set or anything. Have some words for it, but gotta dig through some very old papers so find it, and the pile is big!!!

Anyway, I am sending some .wav files to a friend in Atlanta who has a drummer in her band that is pretty badass who is going to lay drum tracks for me on this one when he get's back from vacation next week. She is a VERY experienced recording engineer with a pretty decent home studio, so I should have some nice tracks to work with. Mainly, I just want her drummer to play on this, because, well, he is badass!!!

Anyway, this is just a little quicky work up thingy I did in a couple of hours today just so I could hear something. The arrangement will be a little different, and there is a whole part that I forgot to add at the beginning and end when I programmed the drums. I didn't do anything to randomize the drums, and it is just a quicky stereo mix I did in Fruity Loops and outputted to .wav file. No eq, compression, reverb...ANYTHING done to the drums. Compressed the bass a bit, and added a bit of a 2k boost to the guitars, that is about it.

Soonest as I get the guitar/bass/vocal scratch tracks and the proper arrangement down (the stuff I am sending to Atlanta) I will post that. Then, I will post the final tracks. This is a way you can sort of see how the production grew up, so to speak.

So typical of one named 'Eddie'. Tsk, tsk, tsk...

Yes!

That sounded GREAT!!!.....That's how a pro does heavier stuff......huh......it sounds great over here for sure.... I would like to hear this with vocals......man I was hearing some good ones over this........I was wanting it to be longer..........very crankable!!

As many details about the sound as you care to share are always appreciated.....besides the great sound, the riffs were very cool.

I even liked the way these drums sounded.....maybe it's just because it's mixed so well.....I really wish I could get this serious sound.....and this isn't done yet......this somehow doesn't make me feel good about my recording.......I'm heading back to suckville.......... (my latest unproperly mixed waste of sonic space)....

Very good Eduardo. It will be interesting to see how the production “grew up”. What I would like to see is how ‘Ed’ grew up and became ‘Eddie’. Does Eddie use beer bottles in the same way as Ed, or does he stick them somewhere else? :p

damn...I kept playin that intoxicating shit thru the next 5 posts I read...and the headphones kept creeping up louder and louder....and I had to come back here and say so..
I gotsta hear the final....will be eager.

Good guitar sound. Your friend in Atlanta wouldn't be Lee Flyer would it?

It would be Track Rat. Have you ever heard any of her live recordings? Top notch!!!

Thanks everybody else for the nice comments. monty, the name change had to do with the newbie guy signing his name "Ed".

Yes, JStation S/PDIF output for all the guitars.

hey sonusman,

It seems I maybe on your ignore list........ but I would really love to hear your thoughts on my tune if you had the time. I'm sure you get many of these requests...........I know I have contacted a few people whom I have come to respect because of there music and/or mixing ability..(Slackmaster, Blue Bear etc.) If ever you have the time, please throw your most harsh comments my way....I'm sure you could give me added advice even if you flamed me..... The sound you are getting is just another one of the sounds I am chasing after...

Thanks:cool:

Yeah, I've heard some of her stuff. I've got an MP3 of her doing some Byrds tune around somewhere. She knows what she's doing.

That's still no excuse for what you do with those beer bottles, Eddie.
