Dude, your stuff is just awesome. I download every song you post and end up listening to them often. You are a very talented guy. This is some more great music and fantastic guitar playing, thanks for posting.

Firstlight - cut some of the highs in the intro (hissing). As I continue to listen, it's still contains a lot of hiss when the ElecGuitar starts. I would probably just push that out with a final mix EQ. The tone on the guitar is excellent, Petrucci-ish. Not busy, fills in very well and creates a nice 'story' in the solo lines. I would've liked even a bigger ending (some sweeps?) and a little quiet fill in the last piano lines...

Good stuff! Impressive and inspirational. Well thought out!
 
Open Legacy - Didn't like the intro guitar sound... like a bad Peavey amp. Maybe an aggressive flange and panning would give you a better effect before opening up the song?

I keep rewinding to the rhythm guitar part, it seems to be missing some low-mid EQ to offer substantial grit. I'd bring up more low end to compensate and make it a bit more aggresive.

I love the middle piano segments. Great balance to what you are doing on the guitar.

Conversations between the piano and guitar are amazing. That's brilliant!!!

This is really something that I'll listen to over and over again. Just a perfectly structured song. I love the guitar build at the end.
 
firstlight - great arrangement and playing. Drums, piano and guitars all recorded really well - nice verbs, tones and mixing. Tasty stuff - enjoyed it very much.....
 
Thanks for your comments. I wanted the beginning guitar in Legacy to sound bad. When the song really starts it kind of "hits" you.

About first light. I cant hear any hiss unless its the choir sample in background.

Guitars are from Pod XT. I think its patch "Yngwie Screaming" which you can dl from customtone. Then just some eq and thats it. Both songs feature Ivory piano. My first try with it and played with non weighted keybed (Korg Triton 61 keys).

First light -

The intro synth pad is too much white noise and it sounds like tape hiss. A more natural sounding string pad might sit a little more freindly.

Fantastic all the way around. Gorgeous acoustic guitar work. I'm not too into the lead tone, but it's excellent nonetheless. Thanks for posting this.
