For anyone that's interested, I put up my renditions of "Morning Has Broken" and "Be Thou My Vision" on my mp3.com site (link below).

Both songs have just a solo vocal with no harmonies...I wanted to keep things simple for a change. Morning Has Broken starts with my Lowden capoed 3, played in G, for the first verse. I love the way this guitar records! For the second verse, I added a track of my Lowden played in C and tuned down a full step. For the third verse, I added in my Yamaha high string. For the last verse, I planned on just adding in some soft percussion (like one of those Eggz shaker things), but my wife thought that it really added nothing (and she was right) and suggested something on the keyboard. So, I came up with some harmonization and she played it. We ended up
choosing French Horns as the midi 'soundfont', and it wasn't until after I had uploaded it that I realized that it is reminiscent of the horns in Leader of the Band.
Be Thou My Vision was done even more simply, with just one track of the Lowden and the solo vocal.

I have one more original song that I've started to record...the song that I wrote for Heather on the day we got engaged. Then, I plan on recording anywhere between 2 and 5 Christmas songs that lend themselves well to acoustic guitar. This should be enough material for a CD on mp3.com. Heather is an artist, so we will have to put something together for the cover pretty soon as well.

Also, I finally added a picture of myself to the site (playing my Martin at a 'Battle of the Bands' in January 1990 when the Martin was only 1 month old), added a link to a site where you can donate free food to help feed the hungry, added many links to artists I like [these are in no particular order, since there is no way to sort them...my favorites are probably Jim Photoglo (he played bass on tour with Dan Fogelberg in the early '90s and is an excellent songwriter and solo performer), Teja Gerken (Acoustic Guitar forum moderator and excellent fingerstyle player), and David Kilpatrick], and I changed the color scheme of the page.

Any feedback would be welcomed and appreciated. Thanks for reading and listening!

Rick
