hey everybody.

I know I'm skating on thin ice with this post but there are such great deals, I thought I'd give it a shot with a chance of making a chicagoland home reccer very happy.

With the knowledge I've accrued in discussions at this very website, I've recently earned gainful employment selling recording gear at GC in Highland Park, IL (wait! lemme finish!). As I'm looking at gear all day and dreaming about what I plan to buy next, I always take note of blowout prices on USED gear that's been brought in for trade.

Anyway, I just thought I'd start a thread letting people know when I notice some great deals on used gear.

Currently, I know there is an AT4047 for $299 and a Boss BR-8 for the same price. I also know that these products sell for way more than that retail. In fact, it happens way more than I expected. Hell, we had a 1604VLZ for $400 and two MC012's for fifty bucks each but they went quick! ;):D

So, if posting good deals on used gear at GC offends anyone, I will cease. If some people appreciate it, I'll continue to let you guys know when hot used stuff pops up.

How would we purchse the stuff? I thought GC was a "brick and mortar" store and MF was it's web store.

Anyway, go for it ! Nobodys gonna' bitch about a good buy.

If you don't post some of these deals you're talking about on a regular basis, I will personally have you flogged. :D

Clue me in on enough of these deals, regularly, and I just might stop buying all my shit from the GC on Halsted. Stonepiano at the Highland Park location. :D It's a little out of the way, but it would be worth it.
 
Yeah, I actually had you, TripleM and Lopp (if he ever comes down from Cheeseland) in mind when I posted it. Anyone else from here is also more than welcome to take advantage of my position of power in terms of gear. :D;)

What can I say? I'm living for the city myself too but if you're near the Edens, it's not too bad. It's just up 94, get off at Lake-Cook, make a right on Skokie Blvd. and you're there.

It's actually a smaller store in the greater GC foodchain so we're really trying to rope people in with amazing deals. If anyone comes in saying they know me from Homerecording.com, I not only offer bear hugs but also any deal I can cut.

Well then. I feel better now and I'll keep up with cool used gear. One other thing, there's a used BLUE refurbed Telefunken 47 (I think) for something like seven grand. I don't think it'll never move unless some big studio bastard strolls in for a new toy.

and yeah. sorry guys. It's more of a, "if you're in Chicago" I can help ya, kind of thing. I can't do anything short of buying them myself and selling them to you...oh wait, um.........is that legal???
