Some Instrumental Metal-Feedback welcome

hey everybody...i've been recording at home using CEP 2.1 for about 9 months and i need some feedback. My computer was built by a friend of mine for the sole purpose of accessing the interweb so i could run my website...it's just bare bones. I run my guitar thru a zoom606 straight into the back of my comp. I also use Acoustica Beatcraft to build the drums. After mixing down all my tracks, I amplify the MD 1.5 dbs and then normalize it. Anything above that (EQ or filters in CEP, or even T-racks) seems to mostly just make everything sound crappy.

I'm starting to think that everything i have going kinda just happens to work together well, and that i should leave it as is....but i'd like to hear any opinions on what i might do to it, short of dropping $10,000 on a new set-up! :D

thanks!

(this one has a bass track)

I like the music. In terms of tone, I think the guitar needs more attack, it all sounds a bit muffled. You could say it's "heavy" perhaps, but not aggressive. Also, with the drum beats I'd try to avoid hitting the same cymbal repeatedly in straight time. When every hit sounds the same it can get a bit distracting. Either change the rhythm nr it or the velocity. Like I say though, I quite like the music overall.

thanks for the comments. I agree 100% about the cymbals, as i recorded more stuff I started to change 'em up more because they were distracting and always seemed louder in the final mixdown than in the sessions. As far as the guitar tone, do you mean more mid/presence? I'm trying to stay as far away from the no-mid/lost-in-the-mix tone that comes with most distortion pedals and effects units...thanks again for the feedback!!
