Ooookay, so I have a question...
1. I see the words "MASTERING" and "MIXING" here a lot...
What is the difference?

Mixing is simply mixing all your instrument tracks into one stereo track. This has to be very good before it goes to mastering.

In mastering, the final mix track is spiced up to sound clean and good throughout the mix. This can be compression and EQ and other nice stuff.

I recently had a bad experience. I mixed 8 tracks and they sound bad. So I am unable to take it for mastering.

Actually, mastering is usually done to an album, or collection of tracks, not a single track. It is (or at least was originally supposed to be) the preparation of the album (or EP or demo) for reproduction - final subtle tweaking of overall levels and EQ and making sure all the tracks "match" in level and overall sound. It is not something that is usually done well by amateurs.
