Hey Matt303,

Welcome to the clinic.

Nice clean tracking. Killer vox! I listent to "sweet thing" and enjoyed the playing and singing. The Drums sounded a bit chippy and busy at times but, that could very well just be me;)

Nice recording.

Theron.

Thanks Theron, I agree with your note about the drums. I would have liked to use a live kit. One of those things about recording at home, with neihbours forces me to use a drum machine.

Nice clean recordings.Did you play the instruments?

I played the Keyboards. The bass and guitar was played by a couple of friends. We all work in different covers bands. One of the things about playing covers is that you play what joe public wants to hear and not what you like. The idea behind this venture is to play some songs we all like(i.e. 70s funk / soul Rufus & Chaka Khan, Chic, Stevie Wonder etc). The ethos being that we try to get as close to the original as possible.

great work matt. i love it. Great tracking, the bass sounds great and the girls sings very good. If i could comment on anything negative, it must have been the drums, but theron did before me

maybe, though, when I think about it, you should try to compress the keybords (more)? Sometimes they sound a bit uncontrolled level vise. But they sound great sonicly

funk on *lol*

Thanks Vegar, I like the Girls singing too,we're getting married next Feb. I take your point about the keys, they are not compressed and they do jump out a bit especially against the rhythm guitar which is heavily compressed.

Listening to 'Thinking of You' I never heard the original but this sounds good.. I guess it's supposed to be really compressed.. I would say that I didnt like the break at 3ish, but since it's a cover it wouldnt matter.. sounds good for this type of tunes..

sam

btw - Congratulations!:)

That was really good!

Sweet Thing - Not the usual type of song you'll hear from home rec'ers, much different than the average.

Really nice perfomance and well recorded.

I'll listen to more later.;)

I'm listening to "thinking of you" great song, I also play that tune with my band...you have nice overall sound and the guitar is great.

But I don't think he is playing the chords right, that not the way I play it...

great work!

I listened to "Thinking Of You". Very good recording. The vocals are very good.

Very nice vocals.

I find the guitar a bit 'crisp'. Great song, I love this style of music, motown'ish.

I thought it would be the April Wine song, Thinking of You (bomp bomp tap), but that's cool!

Nice job, just a bit crispy though IMO. Thanks for the feedback on Jazz1 btw.

Great vocals!, Great Performance!

generally, the music seems to be about 97% there. The vocals are a nice rendition. The recording sounds overly crispy and compressed...but clean. Nice keyboard sounds...those seem to recreate the original sounds the closest.

Yeah, a real bait & switch! Haha,...

I too thought that "Sweet Thing" would be the David Bowie/Diamond Dogs "Sweet Thing", [Boys, boys, it's a sweet thing...], but it wasn't! It was some funk tune,...

Bait & switch! Haha.;)

I'm an all-day sucker for that funky stuff. Don't change a thing.
