If it sounds good, who even cares? It would be tough, even for a counterfeiter, to screw up the sound of a 58 worse than it already is. I wonder how long it takes before Behringer gear gets counterfeited (?) That might be the first time you'll ever see a counterfeit built better than the original.

Looks pretty much the same to me, except that the lettering is slightly taller in your photo. Considering that I've actually seen this vary from one Shure mic to the next bought a few years apart, that's not a red flag to me.

As for the cable, the SM58-LC comes without a cable. It could easily be an SM58-LC with a third-party cable thrown in. That isn't particularly uncommon.

The bag difference... again, I'm sure that every time Shure tools up a different company to make their bags, there are probably subtle differences.

The only thing suspicious in my mind about the photos in the previous page is that the lettering on the box is aligned incorrectly. The 58 has a higher baseline than the SM. That seems wrong to me, but you'd have to ask one of the Shure guys on the board to know for sure. It's possible their graphic designers were just on crack that week. :D

A higher resolution shot of the paperwork could probably clear a lot of the questions up.

I threw in the cable as i diddnt need it any longer. Also, from the earlyer postm i uderstand why they diddnt tell me why its fake cause if i was actually out there to con someone then i could then make better fakes.
 
The pics arent very clear but i looked the the photo someone posted earlyer and compared it to mine and its exactly the same, the lettering, the height, how far the r goes down etc.. I also compared it with my friends today and they sound exactly the same. I think i will just keep it for a while then if i decided to sell it again i will. I looked at the differnce in the gap between the 'H' on the puch and that is wierd, but as someone said earlyer the pouches seem to vary :confused:
ahhh, i cant be bothered to deal with it at the moment, ill leave it a few weeks. ha.
To be fair, im glad they shut down auctions actually selling fake mics. :rolleyes:
 
totally counterfiet, ill take it for $10.

its bully tactics like this that will be the reason i never buy a shure mic. its not the companies job to regulate counterfiet goods on the consumer market. its their job to shut down counterfietting operations at the source.
 
I wonder if you relist it as a "used mic" without the packaging and without the cable - and knock off five or ten bucks... what would happen?
 
If eBay, or it's affiliated people even suspect that something is a fake or fraudulent, they can and will remove the item. It's that simple! It would be left up to you to prove that the item is legit. To prove something is legit is often not worth the time and effort, unless you just want to take your chances and relist it using different pictures.

Truth is I really don't care about negative rep (or positive, for that matter), so I can't even bothered to do my ignore trick. It's the anonymous rep that I don't understand. I've been on record about this since the first anonymous turd I've gotten. Disagree with me - or even insult me - like a man, dammit.

haha, what bellend sent me rep saying " shouldnt sell fake shit"
I sold it to a guitarist, mate of mine, who allready owns 2 of them so i dont think that he would buy it if it was fake.
