Some Advice.

Hey whats up yall. Well, my brother now has some needs to record his own demo music, He sings and also plays the guitar and I think for now that is all he is gonna record. Well I have knowledge in computers but nothing in computer music. I have built my own comp. and decided to use my comp for the recording.
Well after reading this board I've decided to switch from the Audigy 2 Platinum eX to the Audiophile 2496. Well my question is besides the mic and amps for the guitar what else do I need to buy?

What softwares do you all recommend..I also am in a kind of a budget.! :P
 
As long as you're only going to record 1 stereo track (or 2 mono tracks) at a time, you'll still need a mic preamp (or mixer) and software. That's about it for bare necessities. N-Track is mentioned here often as the budget software of choice. Once you have your equipment together, you can download the demo and give it a try.

Thx for the reply! Well I found the sound card for 150.00 and I need some suggestions on the mixers. Well I would like a very cheap mixer. 100 under?
