Well, made the plunge and bought the Soundtracs Solitair I was looking at and all I can say is DROOL!!!....This thing is VEEEERRRRY nice....The only thing is it didn't come with the manual (yet, it SHOULD be on its way) so there is a few things I haven't got my head around yet....Anyway, that's my front end sorted now...A nice big warm impressive looking (and sometimes that comes in handy) versitile machine....Anyway, I'm back off to noodle with it....

Well...you've got a living manual by me :)

Anyway, is it the patchbay version of the patchbayless version?

how about the powersupply check..I guess it was ok than..if it goes bad...I can ship a very impessive supply designed for the solitaire..(even soundtracs itself was impressed and interested)

Did you figure out the assignable dynamics yet...after more than a year I'm still confused about the order to press the keys for editing and assigning...should be real nice without the manual hahaha

Happy mixing...you've bought a great console

Hi Downie....I know, you've been great already (search for downside again, you may have missed a thread of mine)....

It's the non patch version, but realy, for what I want it for it's more than deadly and man, what a beautiful beast!!!!....This trasition was from a Tascam 2524 (which I now wanna sell) and man what a difference...The 2524 is a great little desc, but obviously this one shits all over it.....so clean, so quiet, so...so...I think I'm in love LOL.....

Yeah, funny thing is, right before I went to look at it the first timethe power supply soured and was services/reconditioned so there shouldn't be a problem now, but I'll keep that in mind for sure!!!...

Yeah, I've got a slight hang of the dynamics, but the botton layout is confusing...A couple of extra dedicated buttons wouldn't have gone astey, but it's the audimation that's meesin' with me...Ans, what do I have to do to link it up to a monitor???...

So apart from that the only things I'm having trouble with AT THE MOMENT (baring in mind I've only had it for two day's now) is asigning a signal out (bussing) and finding the PHASE REVERS button, and is there a trick to the ossolator?....I can get a signal from it by routing (from the back) the oss out to a channal (by a lead), is that the only way to get tones?...Not that it's THAT critical, but it'd be nice to know...Again, a manual thing I s'pose...

Anyway, whileI'm typeing this, I'm staring at the beast and I'm gettin' the itch to fidget again so I'll leave it at that....

Cheers Downie!!!

Phase reverse button is between the mon and channel fader...

you can't hook up a monitor to it....it does have a pc connection though ( i love the implemented scroller)...so if you wanna view the automation on big screen...only way is to go with the pc software (you'll need a real 386)..can't recommend it though...once you get the hang of the internal automation it's really great...

osc out....make sure you assing it to the output using the selection buttons on the master section of the desk

Assigning busses is don simply by the bus buttons next to the channel fader...(assignable to bus 1-24)

The Joy Continues...

Thanks Downie....Cool, automation I'll have to wait for the manual...Oss, got it now (doh)...Assigning, yep, knew it was the buttons, just screwed up my testing....It's harder than I remember goin' to a new board, especialy an inline.....I still cant' believe it, what a machine....It just sounds so damn good....
Anyone know where I can grab a manual from?.....

If you try harder, you'll find another 31 phase buttons

:D
