New at home recording studio - not sure I am in the right forum area here - but here goes.

Getting a new Pc.
Currently have Sound Forge 6.0.

Do two kinds of work:
Therapeutic storytelling - with music track in background.
Voice over work- which requires me to be able to record demo's in the home studio and then convet to Mp3 to forward on.

Does Sound Forge 6.0 allow you to record and convert to Mp3?

Have an order ready to go out for WAV-Mp3 Editor and or
Cool Edit 2000

On the new pc - I don't want to load programs I do not need.
Don't want to spend money I do not need to spend either.

I know Ihave Sound Forge 6.0 - between these three which (1) or what combination of programs would work best for me - for what I do.

As far as the therapeutic storytelling recording goes - i am basically solo - however - there is strong potentinal in the future to have a second teller working with me.

Between 'two' tellers and one musical track - are we talking 2 or 3 tracks?
Whew! Thanks for listening...if someone can sort this out - it would be great!

A lot of mp3 converters are free, so all you really need is a program to record. If you're comfortable with Soundforge, then that's probably all you need.

Cakewalk Pyro for $30.00 is a great program to have. You can even do some wave editing and use your plug-in effects.

If you have a registered copy of Sound Forge, then you should be able to make unlimited MP3 copies.

I remember when I first got into recording, back in 2001, I bought Acid Music 3.0... the cheap $40 one. It was the techno music one. I made something like 50 MP3's or my original music, and one day it stopped working. The program told me I had to register it to keep making MP3s. I suppose I could have uninstalled it, reinstalled it, and done another 50 until it stopped. But I registered, and that was that. That was back in 2001, so you may have the same scenario happen to you.
