Hey guys, im currently using cubasis VST to record on and have been using the Wavelab Lite that came with it to do some dynamics and eq. However i cant seem to get wave lab to work well for me since it keeps almost freezing i guess and its lacking in the features. can you guys recommend a good program or programs that i can get to edit/apply dynamics/eq?
cubasis and such has really crappy EQ setup where i can only edit 2 bands for each track and that is less than ideal for sure. Im trying to get my mixes up in quality and i feel this is something holding me back at the moment
Thanks guys!

...or you can download some free plugs for eq from www.kjaerhus.com website. Their classic series is good.

If you're looking to spend money, you might consider upgrading Cubase. The plugs that come with it are pretty darn good.

Not sure why wavelab is locking up on you. Are you running it at the same time as Cubase?

Nah im still using XP, and ive got a fairly beefy computer... about 4 GHZ processor, gig or more of ram, huge harddrives so i dont think it should be slowing it down.

how much better is a newer version of Cubase going to be? i remember it being really expensive but if its worth it maybe i will go that route. ive had good quality recordings using cubasis 4.0 but im all for having better options.

What is reaper like? ive never looked at it. expensive also?
how would each compare? i mostly do band recordings as opposed to anything electronic.
Thanks

your Ram sounds fairly small if its just around 1 gig or so...wavelab will use some of that and then any plugins added will soon exhaust it..

not sure if its the problem but I would be looking at upgrading Ram before you spend cash

reapers great by all accounts but its $60 will probably cost you the same as some ram if not more
