hello,

i've been running a protools system in my studio for a couple years now. i've been looking for a way to record sketch ideas. i toyed with buying a 4-track again but instead opted to check out the new m-audio firewire solo. i'm going to run that into my laptop and use it as a sketch pad.

the only thing is that i'm only realy familiar with ptle. anyone have any suggestions as to what tracking software i should use with the solo? i'm checking out a copy of ableton live 4 but so far, it's greek to me. before i dig into something, i want to be sure it's the best for my situation.

oh, i'm also familiar with acid and have minimally toyed with reason.

thanks in advance for the help.

try the demo of powertracks at pgmusic.com.
that i use. ive tried every software out there and have yet to beat it.
(also try band in a box sometime..the two together are used by lots of musicians for sketching out song ideas, as well as final productions down to CD.). you will be very surprised when you try it.
if you need tips i'm a long time user. NOTE...pc only. biab works on both pc and mac.
