Does anybody ever take a song and pull it apart so you can figure out the Bass Line, the Drums, etc?
I’m not sure if a simple EQ could cancel everything out but the voice, or whatever you are trying to listen to, or do you use some other software?
I’ve heard Karaoke songs that have the voices masked out, so I know someone knows how to do this.
I’m trying to isolate drums so I can pick up the pattern. Bass would be nice too.
thanks

Another variable to consider is karaoke companies asking the vocals to be cut out from the source.

thanks, I've heard a couple that it was clear the person who made it used the original song, because you could the singer barely, muffled, but it was clear it was a hacked karaoke. which for my purposes is fine. As long as i can hear the drums alone I'm happy.

Generally it's pretty easy to pick up the drum pattern without removing the rest of the music. Just listen real closely and I bet you can figure it out. Bass can sometimes be a bit harder, but it's certainly doable.

interesting. I find the bass to be easier. maybe its just the style we are listening to. its hard for me to hear the hi-hat. the kick is easy.
