I've never used MIDI at all before but I'm about to get started (aside request: anybody recommend a $300 dollar or less range sequencer? I've been looking at the Roland MC-50mkII used, but what about the Yamaha Q300, or others?). I'm mainly interested for the moment in using MIDI for live performance but understanding that you can do much more complicated programs much easier with a computer sequencer, I was wondering if it is possible to have the computer sequencer communicate with the hardware sequencer or dump down the MIDI data to it. I was thinking this would make the whole process much simpler; I could do all the work on the computer and not have to fight my way around the little menus on the hardware sequencer. Make sense?

O!

U sure can. Just slave the hardware to the comp and hit record

Y r u answering 5+ year old ?uestions?

The two should be able to sync up just fine. Slave the Roland to whatever DAW you are using, and go from there.

What part of "5-year old post" was confusing to you??????????

I didn't even notice ssscientist's response, or even look at the original poster's date.

My commodore 64 is acting up with my Dr T sequencer. Should I add more RAM, or is 1/2mb enough?
