hey hey,

does anyone know of a good Software Compressor in form of a DirectX plug in?

I'm using the Sonic Foundry one right now and i'm pretty pleased. i just want to make sure that i'm not missing out on something else. something better.

any recommendations?

The stuff from Timeworks and Wavs blow the Soundforge comps away.

Get a VST/DX wrapper and check out these:
http://www.digitalfishphones.com

I've downloaded them, haven't tried them myself yet, but I've seen others rave...........and they're free.

If you're pleased with the SF plugs, something by Waves (C1 or Ren) would probably blow your mind.

i believe that Arberetum ( i dunno if thats the correct spelling) has a bundle that supposedly is exellent for the money and it has alot fo stuff. I know i own it but for some reason i cant find it. It had tons of processors and they wernt too bad of quality although i didnt try them out long before i got waves.

Waves Rennaissance Compressor

Waves Rennaissance Vox. This thing kills on anything you want to be in the front of the mix.

I think you can get all the Rennaissance plugs in Direct X right now from GC for under $300.

Pricey, and I seriously hate hate hate hardware keys... but the Waves Ren Comp kicks a whole buncha ass.

I agree with cominginsecond!

Renaissance Compressor:
Not too complicated, Really nice interface, and the sound (or lack of it) is simply amazing compaired to the others! My #1 choice!!!
