I was looking into waves plug in bundles, then I seen something that said that they don't operate on 64 bit native yet. I was wondering what suggestions you guys may have for good software bundles?

Sonar 8 PE and I'm running it through Windows 7 home premium 64 bit.

Fabfilters plugs always get fantastic reviews..I use UAD but these are always at the back of my mind

Typically most software, though not coded to run on 64 bit systems, will run in 32 bit mode in 64 bit systems. This is why there is a Program Files folder (for 64 bit apps) and a Program Files x86 folder (for 32 bit apps). I looked into the Waves bundles and found the following:

Wavesupport | News | Logic 64-bit

"For several years now, Waves processing on Native systems has used 64-bit floating point precision algorithms that run on 32-bit operating systems. Our testing has shown that moving to a 64-bit OS will not improve sound performance or quality."

So it sounds that even though the software is not coded to take advantage of 64 bit systems, it should still work on a 32 bit system. I would call the company to confirm, but I think you should be able to still get that software.

I run 64 bit to take advantage of my computer, windows 32 bit you can only run 3.2 gb of ram or something like that, I have 16 and a amd phenom II x6 1100t processor, I wanna get the best possible performance I can get. That is why I am asking for suggestions on the plug in side of things. I have really out grown what sonar has available. I am gonna mess with Waves again, see if I can figure out the problem. I will check out fabfilters as well, I would love to go UAD, I want a satellite, but that takes money lol.

yeah for me UAD is the way to go.....once you get the hardware the plugs are really good value...especially if you take advantage of the sales they have...like all the time

im ready to upgrade liquid as Ive only bought vintage with UAD, but in truth my mixes get better because my ears do...if you cant get a decent sound out of sonars built in plugs, which are prolly the best built in plugs, then waves arent going to do it

It is just more or less a lack there of, I want more options.
